Ashwagandha – India’s Ancient Herb for Anxiety

Clinical Herbalist Reviewed on March 10, 2011 by Paulina Nelega, RH

According to the ancient healing science of Ayurveda, Ashwagandha is the premier herb for imbalances of ‘vata,’ conditions that generally correspond to the nervous system. It has been used in India for thousands of years, and is especially good for anxiety as it helps to calm the mind, balance the nervous system, and promote a sense of wellbeing.

Ashwagandha is also called “Indian Ginseng” because of its usefulness for strengthening overall vitality and vigor. It is similar to Asian Ginseng (Panax ginseng) in this regard, for its tonifying action upon the entire body; however, Panax is not suitable for everyone as it may be overly stimulating. For this reason, Ashwagandha may be more generally useful.

Anxiety & Stress Essentials is a professionally formulated, all-natural herbal remedy that combines Ashwagandha with additional adaptogen and nervine herbs such as Rhodiola, Skullcap, and Brahmi. To these we’ve also added L-theanine from Green tea, renowned for its calming effect. Together, these ingredients offer far greater benefit than any single herb can alone!

Anxiety & Stress Essentials:
• Nourishes and strengthens the nervous system
• Helps calm feelings of anxiety & nervous irritability
• Supports a positive mood
• Promotes a state of relaxation
• Encourages restful, refreshing sleep
