Lonicera Japonica Flower
Lonicera japonica is also called Japanese Honeysuckle, Suikazura in Japanese and Jinyinhua in Chinese. This plant is native to Asia, mainly in China, Japan and Korea. The Lonicera japonica is a climbing vine that can grow up to 10 meters or more and can be seen covering trees and high fences. It has simple green leaves and has double-tongued white flowers that can fade to a yellow color. The Lonicera japonica flower has a sweet vanilla scent; the vine also has globose fruits that are colored dark blue which contain numerous seeds inside.
The Lonicera japonica flower is the most used part of the Lonicera japonica vine because of the natural antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties that it has. It is usually combined with other herbs to treat fevers and remove toxins from a person’s body.
History and Origin
The Lonicera japonica has a high medicinal and therapeutic value in ancient Chinese medicine. The name literally means “enduring vine” in Chinese and also “gold silver flower”.
