Ingredients

Active Ingredients:

Wild Yam Root (Dioscorea villosa)

Wild Yam is considered progesterogenic, meaning that its effects in the body are similar to those of progesterone (though it does not contain progesterone, itself, or bind to progesterone-receptors). This progesterone-like action makes Wild Yam extremely beneficial for the declining progesterone that occurs during menopause.

Wild Yam contains diosgenin which, through a multistep laboratory process, can be converted into natural progesterone for inclusion in bioidentical hormone creams or hormone replacement products.

Chaste Tree Berries (Vitex agnus-castus) 

Chaste Tree, also called Vitex, is another powerful progesterogenic herbs. Vitex is theorized to support progesterone production by increasing dopamine levels in the brain which, in turn, decrease prolactin. Increased prolactin levels are associated with suppression of ovulation by inhibiting follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the pituitary, resulting in lower progesterone levels. Prolactin is also associated with symptoms including tender and swollen breasts, bloating, lack of libido, and mood disorders.

Dong Quai Root (Angelica sinensis) 

Dong Quai provides estrogenic-like activity which makes it beneficial with hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms. In traditional Chinese medicine, Dong Quai is considered an "Empress herb," reflecting its revered status as an herb fit for royalty. Commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine to reduce pain and inflammation caused by ‘stagnation’ (congestion arising from blockage of blood flow and/or energy), Dong Quai is often combined with other 'yin tonifying' herbs for menopausal support.
