What is Goldenseal? (Hydrastis canadensis)

Goldenseal has been called “King of the Mucous Membranes” for its notable benefit upon infected or inflamed mucous membranes. It is especially indicated for infections of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract and digestive system. 

In the respiratory tract, Goldenseal works best when the mucous is thick and yellow or green in color, indicating an active infection is present.
