I have suffered from cold sores for about 25 years. Over the years I was able to prevent them from getting HUGE but I was never able to prevent them from surfacing and being noticable. Within the last year I've been getting cold sores once or twice per month. I tried almost everything you could think of, but nothing worked. After extensive research, I came across Trilex. I must admit it was all of the great reviews that made me try it. I had just gotten rid of a cold sore when my shipment arrived. I started out taking one pill per day. I did this because I was getting them so often. After doing this for two weeks straight, I took them only when I felt the burning on my lips that lets me know one is on its way. I never got the cold sore. Not even a bump. Oh and by the way, I haven't had a cold sore since I've had Trilex. This stuff is worth EVERY penny. I purchased 3 bottles. I keep one in my purse, one at home and one at work. If you suffer from cold sores, I can honestly say you don't have a reason to suffer any longer! Great stuff!!

I had a bottle on hand so at the first signs of tingling, I began to take the product. I took 2 capsules 3 times a day. While it may have slowed the progression slightly, overall not good results. By the 5th day of taking the capsules, my cold sore had developed into a big ugly scab as usual. I expected far better results. I suspect that all the reviews are bogus, and written by the people who are in the company. I wish I could get my money back, but since it has been way over 30 days. I have no recourse except to tell others not to waste your money on this expensive and ineffective product, because it does not deliver as promised.

I can across this product a few years back. I was on vacation and had gotten a fever blister. Knowing this was the beginning of my trip and didn't want it to ruin the rest of my vacation I overnighted to where I was staying and immediately started taking the pills. Within a couple days the sore was gone. Usually when I get them they will last for over 3 weeks to complete heal. Now as soon as I know I'm going into the sun or I have had a stressful week I take these pills and usually get to the problem before it gets out of hand. Since I found this I most never get them any more there has been a couple times I didn't have the pills with me and the sore started but as soon as this is taken it reduces healing time. I don't know what I would do without it.

I have never written a product review before but Trilex is so awesome that I felt like I should. I started getting cold sores when I was in my late 20s and tried EVERYTHING else. As soon as I feel a slight tingling on or near my lip, I always take 2 capsules and the tingling disappears.Though it may not always be the on-set of a cold-sore, I take it as a precautionary measure. Then I continue to take Trilex as suggested for a few days. I also take 2 capsules a day when I feel stressed or know that I will have a lot of sugar in my diet. (ex. Trilex is by far the most useful product out there that I have found to stop cold sores immediately. If I feel one coming on I take about 2-3 of the pills immediately and don't ever have to worry about it surfacing. I usually get cold sores when I am stressed so I will take one or two even if I dont feel one coming on to prevent me from getting one. I have never experienced any sort of negative side effect from this product at all. I have used this product for the past 3 years. I am affected most when under stress, combined with a lack of sleep and/or poor nutrition. Every time I feel that characteristic tingle I start taking Trilex. If I am able to catch it early enough a cold sore will never appear. It is only when I run out of Trilex or do not have access to it that I have breakouts.
Should I start to see the redness of a coldsore I start taking 3 Trilex every 4 hours and applying Abreva. This will keep the blister small if not reduce it entirely.
I recently was prescribed Acyclovir, a prescription drug to take when breakouts occur; it has the same effect as Trilex but gives me a stomach ache and is not homeopathic.
I would recommend the use of Trilex along side Abreva to anybody who suffers from recurring cold sores. When I have breakouts they are really, really bad. This remedy allows me to enjoy my weeks breakout free rather than loosing them to embarrassing sores and scabs.

This is the ONLY thing that I have found on the market to actually prevent cold sores! I used to suffer from cold sores at least 8 times per year - I'm talking big, nasty, painful ones! I take one capsule per day. If I feel the tell-tale "tingle," I start taking 3-4 per day. My cold sores used to coincide with my monthly cycle, so I also start taking the higher dose the week before my period for prevention.

I usually take 1 in the morning and 1 at night. I tend to get cold sores from overexposure to the sun, so when I plan to be in the sun for an extended period of time I will also take one in the afternoon. I like the fact it's all natural. I have already recommended this to family members who also suffer from cold sores. I am only using it for about 3 months now and so far, so good. No breakouts as of yet. I was using Valtrex (very expensive and you need a prescription for it). So I would only take it when I felt the coldsore emerging. Plus, who knows what the side effects of Valtrex are since it's a drug!

Ingredients
L-Lysine HCl: Lysine is an essential amino acid, which means that the body is unable to manufacture it and it must be obtained through the diet or by supplementation. Research has shown that lysine decreases replication of the virus associated with cold sores and blisters, which may lessen the severity of outbreaks and their duration.
Chaparral leaf (Larrea tridentata): Known as “creosote bush” for its distinctive, creosote-like odor, Chaparral contains the compound NDGA (nordihydroguaiaretic acid). NDGA is a powerful antioxidant and anti-tumour compound.Chaparral has excellent antimicrobial (including antiviral) properties, making it very useful for viral infections such as those that cause cold sores and blisters.
Clematis root (Wei Ling Xian; Clematidis chinensis): Because cold sores can be extremely tender and painful, we often find ourselves touching them to try and relieve the discomfort. This constant touching can cause the infection to spread and take longer to heal. Clematis Root speeds healing by relieving pain and tenderness at the site of the sore itself, thus decreasing the tendency to touch the affected area.
Bupleurum root (Chai Hu or Thorowax; Bupleurum falcatum): Promotes blood circulation and is widely used to aid the liver in the detoxification process. Chai Hu clears heat from the body and promotes proper blood circulation to speed healing and repair.
